I wonder if the spy room is sheilded like the egg room is.
I'm not sure if even the DRC had figured out why certain areas were shielded.
I do know that if you visit Rezeero and stand in the Great Zero Courtyard, you'll notice that on the walls surrounding the courtyard are what appear to be lenses, as well as several giant crystals. My theory is that when the beam hits either the crystals, the lenses, or both (not sure yet,) it is deflected/reflected and therefore doesn't strike certain areas... areas that are perhaps too dangerous to be struck by neutrinos.
I've taken to calling the "egg room" the Temple, but that's just me. I was under the impression that each neighborhood would have it's own temple to Yahvo, but instead perhaps it's actually some sort of power source/reactor and is too risky to strike with the neutrino beam, and so they deflect the beam from the various neighborhoods.
From what I've read in the DRC notebooks, the Relyimah (the D'ni CIA) probably have something to do with the shielding of the spyroom. It's probably shielded because they used it to conduct surviellance on the cavern, and didn't want to run the risk of being discovered by KI/GZ system technicians. I'm not 100% sure, however, because the Reliymah may have been disbanded long before they developed KI technology.
Now... as for what could possibly shield against a speeding neutrino particle is beyond my level of expertise, hehe.
Makes you wonder what was in the Takotah office when the D'ni were there that needed spied on... and why the DRC chose that spot for their office.
It's entirely too quiet down here. Especially when Maica tells me what it was like when everyone was around. I've been trying to catch up on what all happened (thank goodness for logs and journals).
ps... where did you get those nifty little GZ symbols?
I made them myself and hosted them on my family's webspace... cute, aren't they? :-)
